Fabric Care & Cleaning Codes

The following recommended cleaning codes are devised as the result of tests performed by the fabric manufacturers, having adhered to the methods requested by the Joint Industry Standard Committee. They in no way intend to imply that we are in any way guaranteeing these fabrics or the clean-ability thereof. Any cleaning agent should be tested in an obscure area before proceeding. Fabric cleaning codes are located on your fabric swatch labels.

(S) Clean with pure solvents (Petroleum Distillate-Based Products). Professional dry cleaning is recommended. CAUTION: Use of water-based or detergent-based solvent cleaners may cause excessive shrinking. Water stains may become permanent and unable to be removed with solvent cleaning agents. Vacuuming or light brushing is recommended.

(SW) Clean with water-based cleaning agents, foam or pure solvents (Petroleum Distillate-Based Products). Professional dry cleaning is recommended. Vacuuming or light brushing is recommended.

(W) Clean with water-based cleaning agents or water-based foam. Many household cleaning agents are harmful to the color and life of a fabric. Professional dry cleaning is recommended. Vacuuming or light brushing is recommended.

(WS) For water-based stains use water based cleaning agents only. Do not use solvents. For oil based stains, use solvent cleaners.

(WW) Use water based cleaning agents only. Do not use solvents. Blotting or hand washing is recommended for stain removal. Do not over wet. Excessive brushing or vacuuming may degrade finish.

(X) Clean only by vacuuming or light brushing. Water-based foam or solvent-based cleaning agents of any kinds may cause excessive shrinking or fading.

For Slipcovers: Check cleaning codes. DO NOT DRY CLEAN Sunbrellas, Outduras, Polypropylenes or Pre-washed Cottons. Use mild detergent, cold water, gentle cycle and hang to dry. All other fabrics should be professionally dry cleaned.
